PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for aging a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, capable of securely reducing internal resistance; and a power generating system using the cell.SOLUTION: A method for aging a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, comprises the steps of: preparing the polymer electrolyte fuel cell having an ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane and electrodes formed on both surfaces of the ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane; supplying a first fuel containing alcohol and an alkaline substance of 3 wt.% or less to the one electrode of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell; feeding a load current to the polymer electrolyte fuel cell having the first fuel supplied thereto; and thereafter supplying a second fuel containing alcohol and an alkaline substance to the one electrode of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell. |
