A video laryngoscope comprises a body having a handle 20, 42, a blade 22, a display screen and a display screen housing 18. A grip portion 61, [50, Fig 4a] provided for receiving a thumb and index finger of a user's hand is also provided intermediate the display screen and the handle 20, 42. The grip portion 61, [50, Fig 4a] provided below the display screen to allow for easy manipulation of the laryngoscope and to prevent the thumb of a user from obscuring a portion of the screen. At least one unitary housing component [12, 14; Fig 1] defining a portion of the body, the blade and the display screen housing is also taught. This configuration allowing for an inexpensive, disposable laryngoscope to be provided. A microcontroller configured to initialise the display screen component and/or the camera, but not involved with processing any data transferred between the camera and the display is also taught. |
