The embodiment of the present invention provides a light emitting device which includes a sub mount, a plurality of protruding structures which are arranged on the sub mount and are composed of first conductive semiconductor layers, an active layer and a second conductive semiconductor layer which are arranged on the lateral side and the upper side of each protruding structure, a metal layer which is arranged on the second conductive semiconductor layer and fills a gap between the protruding structures, and a first electrode and a second electrode which are electrically connected to the first conductive semiconductor layer and the second conductive semiconductor layer, respectively.
