PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery which shows a high discharge capacity and a high discharge capacity-keeping ratio at a high electric current rate, and to provide a lithium complex metal oxide useful for the battery, and a manufacturing method of the battery.SOLUTION: A lithium complex metal oxide contains nickel, cobalt and manganese, whose BET specific surface area is not less than 3 m/g and not more than 15 m/g, and whose average particle size measured by a laser diffraction scattering method is not less than 0.1 μm and below 1 μm. According to the invention, a nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery which shows a high discharge capacity-keeping ratio at a high electric current rate can be obtained, which is beyond what conventional lithium secondary batteries have achieved. The nonaqueous electrolytic secondary battery is very useful particularly for an application in which a high discharge capacity-keeping ratio is required at a high electric current rate, and more specifically for applications to nonaqueous electrolytic secondary batteries for a motor vehicle and a power tool such as an electric motor-driven tool. |
