<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the positions of movable rolls of a looper, in which a metal strip is prevented from meandering without considerably reducing a strip storage capacity of the looper. <P>SOLUTION: The method to prevent a steel strip 12 from meandering includes: detecting the meandering of the steel strip 12 occurring between stationary rolls 16a-16c and movable rollers 17a-17c by a meandering detector provided at each of the movable rollers 17a-17c; and controlling the positions of the movable rolls 17a-17c individually up to positions where the meandering detector cannot detect the meandering of the steel strip 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
