The present invention relates to a wire rod for a steel wire with excellent low temperature resistance, a steel wire, and a method of manufacturing the steel wire and, more specifically, to a wire rod for a steel wire and a steel wire with excellent low temperature resistance, as a steel wire used as a core portion of an electric wire, to prevent the electric wire from hanging down when the electric wire is kept for 350 hours or more at a temperature of about 100 to 250°C, a usage temperature of the electric wire, and a method of manufacturing the steel wire. The wire rod or the steel wire comprises: 0.7 to 0.9 wt% of C; 1.0 to 2.0 wt% of Si; 0.07 wt% or less of Mn; 0.1 to 0.2 wt% of P; 0.010 wt% of S; and the remainder consisting of Fe and inevitable elements. |
