The invention relates to a process and a plant for treating waste water directly discharged from the technological manufacturing processes, preventing the pollution with HS and NH, generated by the stagnation of water in the storage tanks, caused in particular by anaerobic and even aerobic degradation of organic substances in water and in the organic suspension slimes sedimented on the bottom of said tanks, and also the pollution with oil products and extractable organic substances which accumulate to the surface of the water stored in the storage tanks and increase the pollutant concentration in the water discharged in the urban sewage system. The claimed process comprises a stage of oxidation by an intense aeration, with the contact air - waste water of over 400m/mof waste water in an aerator () with liquid columns in overlapped cascades, with energy consumption which is more than 6 times lower than the currently used ones, the oxidation being performed with chemical reagent for instantaneous oxidation of HS, followed by an advanced filtration of water through a granular bed of CaSOor Ca(CO)having a height of 100 mm, for water depollution, at increased output ratios, for removing suspensions, oil products and extractable organic substances, which are absorbed at the surface of the granules of the filter (). The claimed plant comprises a vertical tube () with a height of 6000 mm and diameter of 500 mm, mounted in the storage tank wherein two submersible pumps () of different flow rates are introduced, the pump () for the continuous aeration of the water in closed circuit and the pump () for conveying the aerated water into a granular filter () wherefrom it partially passes into a small tank () of an adjustable dropper () where the water with the chemical oxidation reagent is mixed with the filtered waste water, and finally the so treated water is discharged into the urban sewage system.
