Modeling infrastructure for internal communication between business objects

Disclosed is an architecture that allows business objects to communicate across deployment unit boundaries. A runtime object may be defined to listen for a trigger event in an offering business object. The runtime object then assemble and communicate a message for processing by a consuming business object. User interfaces allow a user to configure a service integration definition to generate the runtime object.

1. A method for exchanging information between a first business object and a second business object comprising:
a computer system receiving information indicative of a selection of the first business object; the computer system performing one or more actions on the first business object; the computer system evaluating one or more conditions in response to the one or more actions performed on the first business object; the computer system assembling a message depending on an outcome of the evaluating, the message comprising data about data elements comprising the first business object and data elements comprising the second business object; and if a message is assembled, then the computer system sending the message to the second business object, wherein the assembling includes:
presenting a plurality of first data elements comprising the first business object;presenting a plurality of second data elements comprising the second business object; andreceiving from a user input that maps one or more of the first data elements with one or more of the second data elements.
