Supplemental solar energy collector

A supplemental solar energy collection system including a photovoltaic panel which converts incident radiation into electricity. A housing includes a top thermally conductive surface mated with the photovoltaic panel and serving as a thermal collector. Open channels behind the thermally conductive surface carry fluid in contact with the top thermally conductive surface for removing heat from the photovoltaic panel.

1. A method of manufacturing an integrated supplemental solar energy collection system, the method comprising:
assembling one panel of a housing; forming fluid channels in the panel with a viscoelastic foam tape; and assembling a photovoltaic panel onto the panel to convert incident radiation into electricity so heat is removed from the photovoltaic panel by fluid flowing in the fluid channels.
