The invention relates to a process for making optical elements intended to be used for the infrared range. According to the invention, the process consists in smelting AsSglass balls in aluminium moulds, by heat treatment within an enclosure consisting of a transparent quartz tube vacuumed at 2x20torr and charged with argon at 1.1 at, in an inductive heating installation of a maximal power of 30 kW, within a frequency range of 50...300 kHz, at a temperature of 360...491°C, after which the aluminium moulds are dissolved in a 12% HCl solution, the optical microelements obtained thereby being then washed in distilled water, sorted and microscopically assessed.
|
