The present invention relates to an offshore medium speed engine cooling system to use a medium speed engine for emergency power generation and a medium speed engine cooling method. According to the present invention, the offshore medium speed engine cooling system has an air-cooling structure to use an offshore medium speed engine such as a drillship as an emergency engine, has a self-contained structure to satisfy requirement of the self-contained structure, does not affect a size of an emergency engine room, and secure price competitiveness of an offshore structure. A system for cooling a medium speed engine at the time of using a medium speed engine for emergency power generation in an offshore structure comprises: an emergency power generating room of a ship; a medium speed engine which is equipped in the emergency power generating room; an air-cooled radiator which is equipped on one side of an exposed deck of the ship; an air-conditioning pipe which guides a coolant of the air-cooled radiator to the medium speed engine; and a pipe passage which accommodates the air-conditioning pipe.
