<p>AN ECONOMIZER ASSEMBLY (40, 60) USING A RECOVARABLE HEATING MEDIUM IN THE FORM OF FLUE GAS OR STEAM TO PREHEAT FEEDWATER TO INCREASE BOILER?S EFFICIENCY IS DISCLOSED. THE ECONOMIZER ASSEMBLY INCLUDES A PLURALITY OF INTERCONNECTED OUTER TUBES (50) AND A CONTINUOUS INNER TUBE (41) THAT FORMS UNIFORMLY SPACED VOIDS (70, 80) TO ENCLOSE THE HEATING MEDIUM. THE INNER TUBE (41) TRANSFER DEAERATED FEEDWATER TO THE BOILER BY A FEED PUMP (54). THE ENCLOSED HEATING MEDIUM SURROUNDS THE INNER TUBE (41) WITHIN THE VOIDS (70, 80), THUS TRANSFERRING HEAT ENERGY TO THE FEEDWATER THEREBY INCREASING THE TEMPERATURE OF THE FEEDWATER FROM 85 DEGREES CELCIUS TO 90 DEGREES CELCIUS. THE HEATING MEDIUM FLOWS INTO THE VOIDS (70,80) THROUGH AT LEAST ONE INLET (44A, 44B, 68, 62) AND EXITS THROUGH AT LEAST ONE OUTLET (46, 64, 66) THAT ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERCONNECTED OUTER TUBES (50).</p> |
