1. A method of supporting positioning by a radio device in a cellular network, wherein the radio device is configured to communicate with a radio base station of the cellular network, the method comprising:
detecting one or more cell identities; performing cell measurements based on the detected cell identities; transmitting a result from the cell measurements and the detected cell identities to the network node, in order for the network node to determine whether to transmit a neighbor cell list to the radio device; determining whether to use the detected cell identities or to use cell identities received in a neighbor cell list from a network node for determining positioning reference signal patterns, based on the cell measurements; for at least one cell identity, determining a positioning reference signal pattern, based on the cell identity and a pre-defined mapping between the cell identity and the positioning reference signal pattern; and performing positioning measurements based on the determined positioning reference signal pattern.
