The present invention relates to a composition including a) a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles functionalized to a phosphorus acid monomer or a structural unit of a salt of the same; and b) an aqueous polymer functionalized to a sulfonic acid monomer or a structural unit of a salt of the same, and to a method including the step of mixing a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles functionalized to phosphorus acid with a sulfonic acid functionalized polymer and TiO_2. The composition of the present invention is useful as a coating agent with improved shielding properties compared with a phosphorus acid functionalized binder not including an aqueous polymer. Besides, when a sulfonic acid functionalized polymer exists, the same shielding properties is obtained in the lower concentration of phosphorus acid. |
