The present invention provides a side support for an independent type LNG storage tank, comprising: a pair of rolling load support parts separated from an independent type LNG storage tank in a vertical direction and joined to the outer side of a sidewall of the independent type LNG storage tank and the inner hull of a ship to support the rolling load of the independent type LNG storage tank; and a vertical load support timber to come in contact with each of the pair of rolling load support parts by the top and the bottom.
