FIELD: physics, computer engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synchronisation of parts of a file using a server information storage model in a client-server computer network. Changes to content of an electronic document may be applied on a client computer. The content may be included in a first part of a file stored on a server computer. The first part may include a first stream which includes content of the electronic document. The file may include a plurality of parts, each part including one or more streams. The client computer may generate metadata in a second part of the file. The metadata may be associated with changes in the content of the electronic document in the first part. The second part may then be separately synchronised with the server computer in order to store the metadata. The first part may then be separately synchronised with the server computer in order to save the changes made to the content of the electronic document.EFFECT: improved data security during synchronisation.14 cl, 7 dwg
