An apparatus for controlling an LDC (low voltage DC/DC converter) for controlling an LDC which includes a transformer and a PWM controller is disclosed. The apparatus for controlling an LDC comprises: an input current calculating part which calculates input current of the LDC using magnifying inductance data of a transformer and effective conduction ratio data of a PWC controller; an output current calculating part which calculates an instantaneous value and an average value of output current based on input current being calculated by the input current calculating part; and an LDC control part which generates control signals for overcurrent protection or capacity control and outputs the control signals to a PWM controller based on an instantaneous value and an average value of output current being calculated by the output current calculating part.
