The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition or a food composition which is safe due to few side effects, and has excellent TGR5 agonist activity comprising one or more extracts selected from a group consisting of Erigeron annuus, Sasa borealis(Hack.) Makino, cypress, ricinus, sunberry, Stellaria alsine var. undulata Ohwi, angelica, and zanthoxylum piperitum seed as an active ingredient. The composition of the present invention can be used as a pharmaceutical composition or a food composition for treating or preventing diabetes; treating or preventingobesity; protecrting nerve cells; controlling digestion and absorption; or alleviating or treating liver diseases or heart diseases.
