A method for compensating DC current ripple of an inverter and an apparatus therefor is disclosed. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for compensating DC current ripple of an inverter extracts inverter output frequency components from DC current of the inverter, and after acquiring d-shaft and q-shaft values by converting the extracted inverter output frequency components and 90 degrees shifted components into a synchronized coordinate system, calculates a first and a second riffle compensation value by controlling d-shaft and q-shaft values to be 0, respectively, and using such compensation values, compensates the reference voltage of the inverter controller.
