<p>The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for cooling exhaust gas using a water cooling device. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for cooling exhaust gas comprises: an RPM measuring unit (100) which measures an engine RPM; a fuel injecting amount measuring unit (150) which measures the amount of fuel injected into the engine; an air amount sensing unit (200) which senses the amount of air contained in exhaust gas of the engine; an exhaust gas calorie calculating unit (300) which calculates calories of exhaust gas based on measured RPM, the amount of air, and the amount of fuel injected; a water cooling device (500) for reducing the temperature of exhaust gas using evaporating heat of the water; and a control part (400) which controls the time point of discharging the water from the water cooling device (500) based on the calculated exhaust gas calorie.</p> |
