According to an embodiment of the present invention, a liquid crystal display device comprises: a first substrate; a pixel electrode formed on the first substrate, separated from each other, and including a first sub pixel electrode and a second sub pixel electrode located on one pixel area; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a common electrode formed on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer located between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first voltage applied to the first sub pixel electrode is higher than a second voltage applied to the second sub pixel electrode. The first sub pixel electrode comprises a plurality of first branch electrodes. The second sub pixel electrode comprises a plurality of second branch electrodes, and is located outside the pixel area to surround the first sub pixel electrode.
