PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of defective transportation of a sheet.SOLUTION: When a tip end in transportation direction of a sheet reaches a first transportation roller 25 and when a tip end in transportation direction of the sheet reaches a belt 13, a separation roller 21B is rotated. When a shield time Ts has passed after the tip end in transportation direction of the sheet reaches the belt 13, transmission of rotational force to the separation roller 21B is shielded. Thus, even in a case where a frictional resistance acts on a sheet from a separation pad 21C under a condition in which the first transportation roller 25 and the second transportation roller 27 cannot pinch the sheet by a large nip pressure, occurrence of defective transportation is suppressed by a transportation force applied from the separation roller 21B. |
