PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy of a curved shape by suppressing displacement of a position of a detection part relative to an insertion device.SOLUTION: The insertion device includes: a flexible insertion part to be inserted into an insertion object body; and a curved-shape detection sensor for detecting a curved shape of the insertion part. The curved-shape detection sensor includes an optical fiber including at least a core 102, a clad 103, a coating 104, and a detection part 105 mechanically fitted to the core 102 for detecting the curved shape. The optical fiber is at least disposed at the insertion part. Further, the optical fiber has a displacement suppression part 106 for directly or indirectly suppressing the displacement of the detection part 105 relative to the insertion part. |
