METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR COLOR BALANCE CORRECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and apparatus for white balance correction.SOLUTION: A reference object appearing in a captured scene image is identified and a color transform is computed based on known color balance information for the reference object. The color transform is based on a difference between color information for the reference object taken under known illumination and the apparent color balance of the reference object as it appears in the captured image. The color transform is applied to the captured image and a corrected image is created based on applying the color transform to every pixel in the captured image.
