PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a movable contact component which prevents a silver layer on its surface from being peeled even when being used for a long period of time under such an environment that switching is repeated, and does not increase a contact resistance even when a keying test alternative fretting test is performed, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. ! SOLUTION: There is provided a material for a movable contact component which has a conductive substrate 1, a ground layer 2 formed on the conductive substrate 1, an intermediate layer 3 formed on the ground layer 2, and an outermost layer 4 on the intermediate layer 3. The outermost layer 4 is formed of noble metal.
