PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purification method of a polymer which, even though being a simple and low-cost process, has excellent purification efficiency; a purified polymer; and an adhesive for a semiconductor using the purified polymer produced by the method. ! SOLUTION: Provided is a purification method of a polymer synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization, comprising: adding (A) an organic solvent and (B) a poor solvent of the polymer to a polymer solution after polymerization and mixing the mixture; thereafter adding pure water to and stirring and standing still the mixture to separate the same into two layers including a solution layer containing the polymer and an aqueous solution layer; and extracting a halide ion and a transition metal ion remaining in the polymer into the aqueous solution layer side.
