<p>The invention mainly relates to a method for controlling a discharge system (7) of a turbocharger turbine supplied with exhaust gases, said discharge system (7) comprising a rotor (8) and a stator (9) each provided with a series of openings (81, 91), and an actuator (11) capable of rotating said rotor (8) relative to said stator (9) such as to vary the exhaust-gas flow areas (S), each defined by an area in which an opening of said rotor (8) and a corresponding opening of said stator (9) are vertically adjacent in order to switch the discharge system (7) from a closed state to an open state and vice-versa, characterised in that, during an exhaust phase of at least one cylinder of the engine, said method comprises the step of closing said discharge system (7) before or at the time of opening an exhaust valve of said cylinder such as to recover a maximum amount of energy from the exhaust gases in a high-pressure output phase, and the step of opening said discharge system (7) in a medium- or low-pressure output phase when one piston of said cylinder is close to the middle of the travel between a lower dead centre and an upper dead centre, such as to reduce a pressure upstream from the turbine and to control power recovered by the turbine.</p> |
