PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device, and a computer program capable for selecting and operating an object present at a remote location.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for selecting a displayed object with an information processing apparatus which is connected to a touch panel having display functions such that data communication between them is possible. The method comprises the steps of: entering a trajectory expansion mode in response to movement of a user's finger on the touch panel at a predetermined speed or higher; displaying a finger trajectory in an expanded size in accordance with the finger movement speed in the trajectory expansion mode; and bringing an object located at the end point of the expanded trajectory into a selected state.
