PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve inconvenience or risks at a time of personal authentication, while suppressing an influence on design in touch panel terminals or manufacturing costs therein.SOLUTION: Personal authentication is performed based on a gesture operation by a multi-touch on a touch panel. A personal authentication device includes: acquisition means for acquiring time-series location information on each touch point by the gesture operation performed using at least three fingers on the touch panel; and calculation means for calculating a pattern of the amount of characteristic of a user using the time-series location information on each touch point, and registering the calculated pattern thereof as data for identifying the user.
