SOLUTION: The controller 10 for controlling the drive of a motor 1 includes a control unit 13. In a normal condition, the control unit 13 drives the motor 1 on the basis of a first advance value calculated while giving a high priority to the driving efficiency of the motor 1. When it is determined that the motor 1 comes into an overload state on the basis of a provided signal, the control unit 13 drives the motor 1 on the basis of a second advance value calculated so that the motor 1 can be driven at a maximum torque. !
