PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming such an engaging projection that a joint part structure excellent in pipe removal blocking performance can be obtained when pipe ends of a pipe having an engaging projection are connected by fixture with a housing in the case of forming an engaging projection on the outer peripheral surface of the joint part.SOLUTION: A projection roller positioned inside a processing object pipe body and a molding annular groove positioned outside the pipe body are used to form a vertical wall part of an engaging projection so as to stand up at an angle of 65° or more and 90° or less to the outer peripheral surface in the pipe axial direction, thereby processing this part by rolling so that a height from the outer peripheral surface of the engaging projection to the tip of an apex may be formed above a total value or more of a curvature radius of the surface of processing means coming in contact with the pipe body.
