PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: when images requiring low consumption of toner are continuously formed and subsequently images requiring high consumption of toner are formed, the correction of the supply amount of toner may not be performed at the proper timing a toner should be supplied.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a developing unit 44, a first supply amount determination unit 1101 that detects the consumption of a toner consumed by the developing unit 44, an inductor sensor 20, a difference calculation unit 1102 that calculates the difference between an output signal and a target value of the inductor sensor 20, a second supply amount determination unit 1104 that calculates the cumulative value of the differences, and a supply amount addition unit 1105 that determines the supply amount to be supplied to the developing unit 44 on the basis of the consumption detected by the first supply amount determination unit 1101 and the cumulative value calculated by the second supply amount determination unit 1104, in which when the supply amount during the formation of a toner image on the previous page is smaller than a threshold, the second supply amount determination unit 1104 prevents the difference from being accumulated on the cumulative value. |
