A spacer (1) for spacing apart two attached articles (31, 31), particularly for spacing apart bicycles from each other or other articles such as racks to protect the articles comprising a spacer body (41, 42) and engaging means on the spacer body (41, 42) for reversibly attaching the spacer (1) to a first article (31) to prevent impact with a second article (31), the spacer body being solid or rotatable to correctly orient the spacer (1) and the attached articles (31, 31).
