PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored composition for a color filter excellent in heat resistance, brightness, and a contrast ratio, and a color filter.SOLUTION: The colored composition for a color filter comprises at least a colorant, a binder resin, and an organic solvent. The colorant comprises a salt-forming compound expressed by general formula (1) of a cationic cyanine dye and a fluorine group-containing boron anion.
