A pneumatic tire (1) is obtained by: extrusion-molding a cylindrical film (10) by inflation molding using a thermoplastic material, the proportion of the breaking strength in the extruding direction (12) to the breaking strength in a direction (16) perpendicular to the extruding direction of the cylindrical film being 1.35-1.80; placing the resulting cylindrical film (10) on a molding drum so that the extruding direction (12) is the tire width direction (14) to mold a green tire; and vulcanization-molding the green tire.
