PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to ensure sufficient impact absorbing performance, without enlarging a packing material or a device body, even when an outer cover is not elastically deformed fully.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a left side-plate 2 which forms a frame body of the body of an image forming device 3; a left cover 1 which is located on the outside of the left side-plate 2 to form an outer frame of the body of the image forming apparatus 3; and an impact absorbing member arranged between the left side-plate 2 and the left cover 1. The impact absorbing member includes: the left cover 1 which serves as an elastic deformation section which is elastically deformed when a load is applied; and a positioning rib 1a which serves as a plastic deformation section which is plastically deformed or a breaking section which is broken when a load is applied. |
