PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of easily capturing an image with a desired composition in which a subject has a constant inclination angle with respect to the horizon.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a rotary drive part 21 which causes an image pickup device 11 held by a holding part 42 to rotate around a camera body 10; a display 14 which displays an image on the basis of image data from the image pickup device; a shake detection part 15 which detects a shake angle of the image pickup device with respect to a horizon H; a subject image determination part 16 which determines two points on a specific subject image in the image displayed on the display; a first calculation unit 18 which calculates an inclination angle of a line connecting two points on the subject image determined by the subject image determination part, with respect to the horizon; and a second calculation unit 19 which calculates, on the basis of the inclination angle calculated by the first calculation unit and the shake angle detected by the shake detection part, a rotation correction angle for the rotary drive part to perform corrected rotation of the holding part. On the basis of the rotation correction angle calculated by the second calculation unit, the image pickup device is held constant with respect to the horizon. |
