<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging technology that allows a simple configuration to image with brightness sufficient to cover a peripheral edge part of a specimen container, and, what is more, is effective to a biological sample having a three-dimensional structure.SOLUTION: An imaging device 1 imaging a biological sample carried with a liquid in a recess part W provided in a sample container WP and having a flat bottom face together comprises: holding means 11 for holding the sample container so that the bottom face of the recess part is level; illumination means 12 for making illumination light incident upon an opening face of the recess part from above the sample container; imaging means 134 for imaging the biological sample by receiving transmission light from the bottom face of the recess part; and an observation optical system 130 that is provided between the sample container held by the holding means and the imaging means, and making light emerging from the bottom face of the recess part incident upon the imaging means. The observation optical system includes an objective lens 131, and an aperture stop 132 provided between the objective lens and the imaging means, and the aperture stop is configured to be arranged closer onto an imaging means side than a focus position of the objective lens.</p> |
