The present invention relates to a tire for vehicles bearing heavy loads, having a tread which contains a composition made of at least one elastomer matrix containing polyisoprene and one unsaturated thermoplastic styrene elastomer. Said unsaturated thermoplastic elastomer is at most 50 wt% of the elastomer matrix and includes at least one rigid styrene segment and at least one flexible diene segment. The at least one flexible diene segment contains at least 20 wt% combined diene units. Said polyisoprene is more than 50% of the difference between the weight of the elastomer matrix and the weight of the unsaturated thermoplastic styrene elastomer. Said composition also consists of at least one reinforcing filler and a cross-linking system.
