The purpose of the present invention is to provide a resin composition which enables the use of an easily and inexpensively obtainable resin and facilitates mass production, and with which it is possible to form a sliding member having excellent sliding properties including wear resistance. This sliding member resin composition includes a thermoplastic resin, graphite, and a boron-based compound. Said thermoplastic resin is preferably a polyphenylene sulfide, a polyamide, a polyether ether ketone, or a combination of these, and is more preferably a polyether ether ketone. The content of said boron-based compound is preferably between 0.2 to 5 parts by mass, inclusive, with respect to 100 parts by mass of said thermoplastic resin. At least one of the boron-based compound and graphite may be partially or entirely included in a resin powder that contains phenol resin and at least one of the boron-based compound and graphite. The maximum particle size of said resin powder is preferably 0.04 mm or less. |
