Provided is an exhaust gas purification device for a marine diesel engine that enables disposal wastewater to be discharged into the ocean regardless of whether a vessel is traveling inside of a special area designated for treated wastewater or outside of the special area during the treatment of exhaust gas of a marine diesel engine that uses a low-quality fuel such as a heavy oil containing a high concentration of sulfur component in particular. This exhaust gas purification device for a marine diesel engine that uses a low-quality fuel such as a heavy oil containing a high concentration of sulfur component is characterized in that a scrubber that hardly removes any particulate matter (PM) by utilizing the difference in diffusion rate between gas and particles is disposed on an exhaust pipe that is connected to an exhaust manifold of the engine.
