PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery in which pressing force can be properly applied to a flat wound electrode group.SOLUTION: In this secondary battery, a wound electrode group 3 has a positive electrode foil exposed part 34c which is formed at one end in a winding axis direction and to which a positive electrode collector plate 44 is connected, a negative electrode foil exposed part 32c which is formed at the other end in the winding axis direction and to which a negative electrode collector plate 24 is connected, and a pair of curved portions 30a, 30b formed at both ends in the direction perpendicular to the winding axis direction. When charging the battery, center regions 30c on both inside and outside of the wound electrode group 3 are brought into contact with the inner surface of a battery can, and gaps are produced between the battery can 1 and the wound electrode group in outside peripheral regions compared with the center regions 30c. A pressing member 200a fills up the gap in the peripheral region between the center region 30c and the positive electrode foil exposed part 34c, and also fills up the gap in the peripheral region between the center region 30c and the negative electrode foil exposed part 32c. |
