PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the number of image diagnostic charts necessary for diagnosis becomes large, and diagnostic costs (the costs of paper and toner) are increased, and a user's labor required for reading the charts is increased in a remote image diagnostic system of an electrophotographic device.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: image forming means for forming an image; designation means for designating a region with respect to image data obtained by reading an image formed by the image forming apparatus; acquisition means for acquiring the image feature information of image data included in the region designated by the designation means; estimation means for estimating the generation factor of an abnormal image included in the designated region by using the image feature information acquired by the acquisition means; and determination means for determining a chart to be formed by the image forming apparatus by using the result estimated by the estimation means.
