PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a search system and a search method for a broadcast station which can perform search while viewing of a broadcast station which is currently being received is continued in a broadcast receiver of one-tuner type. ! SOLUTION: A search system includes: a search request section 13 for transmitting information on a broadcast station during reception to a smart phone 200 and requesting execution of a search; a search processing section 22 for searching for other broadcast stations in accordance with the request; and a reception switching section 15 for controlling a tuner 102 to switch to another broadcast station and receive it in accordance with information transmitted as a search result from the smart phone 200.
