PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device capable of surely realizing less vibration and lower noise even if a stepping motor is used at a low rotational speed of 200 rpm or less.SOLUTION: An image reading part 3 includes a stepping motor, and includes an original transportation part for transporting an original by driving of the stepping motor in a sub scanning direction, and a motor control part for controlling driving of the stepping motor. It reads an image of the original that is transported by the original transportation part. The motor control part, when driving the stepping motor in a low rotation range of 200 rpm or less, sets a step angle of the stepping motor to be less than 1°, and sets a rotational speed of the stepping motor to be such rotational speed as an acceleration in a rotation direction of the stepping motor becomes 10 m/sor less. |
