A display control unit of a display control device which displays a cursor on a display screen on the basis of a detection result of a user line-of-sight direction and a detection result of a manual operation, stops execution of line-of-sight cursor display processing (S180) in cases (S150: NO) when the manual operation of an operation device is not detected by a manual-operation detection unit, even if (S120: YES) the user line-of-sight direction with respect to the display screen has been detected by a line-of-sight detection unit. As a result, if the user only moves his/her line of sight in order to view content displayed on the display screen, the cursor is not displayed on the content. Furthermore, in cases when the user wishes to move the cursor, execution of the line-of-sight cursor display processing (S180) can be permitted by performing (S150: YES) an action which is natural to the user, namely using the operation device. Accordingly, usability for the user can be further improved. |
