<p>PURPOSE: A paste spreading method and a paste spreading apparatus are provided to obtain an excellent accuracy in the coating height of a glass paste by absorbing the difference in the coating height by a difference in nozzle-moving directions. CONSTITUTION: A paste spreading method comprises: a step of setting the correction amount of a nozzle height from a substrate(8) to a nozzle(55a) in every moving direction when the nozzle moves along the circumference of a coating region; a step of correcting the nozzle height in every moving direction with the correction amount depending on the moving direction of the nozzle, and moving the nozzle along the circumference of the region.
