The head (1) has a basic body (2) comprising a rotational axis (D) attached to a polishing spindle and provided with an elastic supporting part (3) arranged on the basic body, on which a polishing film (4) is coated. The supporting part comprises a recess of depth, and the polishing film comprises a hole (4.1) having access to the recess. The polishing film comprises another hole (4.4) arranged in an area of an edge of the recess and at radial distance from the former hole and forming an outlet channel for ejecting a polishing agent via the recess. An independent claim is also included for a method for polishing optical spectacle surfaces using a zonal polishing tool.
