<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which when counting color pixels using ink color data of each pixel, obtains the result of automatic document color discrimination (ACS) which gives a user no discomfort. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 1 which records an image on a printing medium 10 with chromatic color ink and achromatic color ink is provided with a document color discrimination part 306 which separates image data expressing an image into chromatic color data and achromatic color data, compares the amounts of the chromatic color ink and achromatic color ink to be used in printing, with respect to each pixel included in each of the separated color data, and determines whether the image data is entirely a color data according to the result of the comparison. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
