<p>The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for automatically generating a help system for a software application. In one embodiment, a method includes obtaining, using a processor (110), a plurality of graphical user interface (GUI) screens (200) associated with the software application from a GUI database (106), wherein each of the GUI screens (200) comprises one or more GUI objects (202). The method further includes determining functionality associated with the one or more GUI objects (202) in each of the GUI screens (200).
